Good morning! Our travels to Tanzania take us from MSP to Amsterdam, and then from Amsterdam to Kilimanjaro. Our first leg of the journey is complete and we are killing a couple of hours at the Amsterdam airport.
I look forward to sharing our stories with you as we spend two weeks visiting our friends in Tanzania. Here’s a rough sketch of our schedule:
Wednesday & Thursday Feb. 11 & 12 – Travel to Tanzania
Friday, Feb. 13 – Meetings in Arusha with ELCT (Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania) representatives, LMC (Lutheran Mission Cooperative), and medical suppliers
Saturday, Feb. 14 – Travel to Iambi Lutheran Hospital in Nkungi Village
Sunday, Feb. 15 – Thursday Feb. 19 – Time at Iambi Lutheran Hospital
Friday, Feb. 20 – Time with the Central Diocese staff in Singida
Saturday, Feb. 21 – Travel to Iringa
Sunday, Feb. 22 – Time with Gary & Carol Langness of the St. Paul Area Synod in Singida
Monday, Feb. 23 – Travel to Dar es Salaam
Tuesday, Feb. 24 – Travel Home
Our main goal for this visit to Tanzania is to spend time in relationship with our friends at Iambi Hospital and the Central Diocese of Tanzania (a diocese is similar to a synod in the ELCA). We also hope to identify a medical supplier that we can purchase the supplies from that so many of you have helped us purchase — hospital beds, iv poles, bedside tables, etc. We look forward to updating you on our journeys.
Peace,
Pastor Lisa
safe travels Lisa!
