Tonight we were able to participate in the weekly soup kitchen meal at Unity Evangelical Lutheran, our host church site. Every week the church hosts a Wednesday evening meal, food pantry, and clothing shop for those in need. They also have a health clinic open every other week. The youth and members of the congregation spread throughout the fellowship hall to socialize and share a meal with our guest. I’m sure your children met nice people with interesting stories. I hope they share some of these stories with you when they return home.

After the meal, we attended the Wednesday worship at Unity. This service was created by the YouthWorks participants. The songs, reading, and message were all done by the youth. What a powerful way to share our faith!
