Martha’s Market

We hear it’s hot back home … and, wow, is it hot in DC!

Yesterday Bob, Sue, and Ann left bright and early to meet Senator Amy Klobuchar in her office for her Thursday breakfast with visiting Minnesotans.

Jen and I left with the rest of the crew toward the White House.

We spent the afternoon serving with Martha’s Table at a pop up fresh produce market. Each family was able to pick up 1-3 bags of fresh produce. A highlight of the market is that each family was given a recipe specific for the produce in their bag. Hot samples were available to give folks a taste of what they could make. Our very own Chef Nick (along with Sous-Chef Bob) prepared a fabulous batch of fried rice. This organization serves with joy and was so much fun to work with … a highlight for all of us.

We ended the evening with dinner at Union Station and then some wandering (perhaps more than originally planned) around the Mall area.

All in all, it was another meaningful day for all of us. Thanks for your support—

Pastor Lisa

p.s. It’s always a highlight for me to watch young people learn how to use public transit.
