It’s getting late so I’ll share just a few highlights from our day. We hear it’s hot back home … and, wow, is it hot in DC!
Bob, Sue, and Ann left bright and early to meet Senator Amy Klobuchar in her office for her Thursday breakfast with visiting Minnesotans.
A little while later, Jen and I left with the rest of the crew toward the White House.
We spent the afternoon serving with Martha’s Table at a pop up fresh produce market. This organization serves with joy and was so much fun to work with … a highlight for all of us. We packed fresh produce bags, welcomed guests, and Chef Nick cooked samples of some delicious fried rice that could be made using the ingredients in the bags. Videos of the dancing that took place are available upon request. 🙂
We ended the evening with dinner at Union Station and then some wandering (perhaps more than originally planned) around the Mall area. I think this MLK monument might be my favorite.
The high school students were the ones asking for devotions and processing time. We certainly are enjoying our time together.
All in all, it was another meaningful day for all of us. Thanks for your support—
