-Sundays 9:45-10:45am & Wednesdays 6:45-7:45pm-
With Faith Formation (formerly known as Sunday School) beginning in a few short weeks (September 11 and 14) we thought it would be fun to share a few fun things you might not know about Faith Formation at Zumbro.
- There is never a dull moment. Kids are engaged in so many ways; it’s crazy fun! From media and music on the big screen, to active games in the gym. From hands-on (sometimes messy) crafts to digging deep into Bible stories with volunteers who really care about your kids. The hour flies by leaving kids wanting more! Sunday or Wednesday – it’s the same level of fun!
- The Big Idea is the same in worship and Faith Formation every week. Janette Reeves writes all the curriculum for Faith Formation so it fits together seamlessly with worship. The goal of The Big Idea is 1 week. 1 story. 1 message. It’s simple and it works! Learn more about it here.
- Family Minister Kris Oppegard is the best grade five and six leader around. She creates a Sunday morning experience that can’t be beat. After spending the first few minutes of Faith Formation in the large group opening singing songs and learning The Big Idea they head to their own small group space. Here they read from the Bible, discuss what they read, and reflect on their own life in response. Another hidden gem: Kris nearly always has candy. 🙂 It’s a win, win, win, in our opinion.
- Wednesday nights offer leadership opportunities for grades five and six. Rather than split off of the large group like they do on Sunday mornings, grades five and six are a part of the whole experience. This includes the games and craft. There are also opportunities for them to show leadership with the younger kids.
Register children age three-grade six for this face-paced, engaging hour that is all about sharing stories about God and faith today!
